Day 1 will be 1/1/09

The list is almost ready. I've added the countdown to the right-side nav bar top of this blog. Now I just have to finalize the list and figure out how I want to post it to this blog. Stay tuned.

The Big Four

My more day-to-day progress & challenges are chronicled in separate blogs:
Also, my new plan is to have my 101 list ready for the new year.

Inspiring

I'm not vegan and I doubt I could go a whole month on such a regimented diet, but I'd like to try to replicate or at least imitate this in some way.

Brainstorming

So, I still haven't come up with "the" list, but here are some things in contention:

  • Run a half-marathon.
  • Learn to sew.
  • Become a CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive)
  • Crochet an afghan.
  • Get a farm share.
  • Learn to play poker.
  • Learn CPR & basic First Aid.
  • Have a garden.
  • Ride a mechanical bull.
  • Volunteer on election day. (The next presidential election is more than 1001 days away, so it'll have to be a mid-term election.)
  • Take a ballroom dance class.
  • Take a self-defense class.
  • Plant a tree.
  • Tag all my livejournal entries.
  • Learn to make soup.

Update

No, I haven't forgotten about this. I still don't have a complete list yet; that's all.

What I do have are four major life areas that I'm concentrating on: fitness, finance, clutter & crafts. These are my/the Big Four. FFCC.

43Things.com and JoesGoals.com have already been very helpful. My50.com, not as much.

We Are What We Do

I'm tracking actions on We Are What We Do

Getting Started

I was recently inspired to embark on the 101 things to do in 1001 days project. Normally I focus on short-term goals, but this was motivation to think more than a year out. I'm still building the list, which will be posted here. But I'm also thinking outside the 101 in 1001 parameters. In my search for inspiration for things to put on my list, I've stumbled across sites like We Are What We Do, My 50, and 43 Things. I'm not sure how which tools I'll use, or how I'll separate my tangible, achievable goals from my dreams. But I decided to start my own blog to ramble about it. So here we are.
